Yes. There is a doctor in the "Krito" (Medical centre - near the
church) and Dr Psaros has a surgery near the
Pallas Travel Agency. Ask the agency staff for the doctor's hours.
Is there a chemist?
Yes. The Pharmacy is open daily between 9.00 a.m. and 11.00 p.m. (early closing Sunday at 3.00 p.m.).
Can we drink the water?
Yes. The water in your accommodation is from underground springs and is safe.
The water in the main square is not.
Can I put toilet paper down the loo?
No. You musn't put any paper or other products down the loo.
You must use the bins provided in the bathrooms.
How much is a taxi between Lindos & Rhodes Town?
Taxi fares are regulated on Rhodes and you should find a board with destinations and fixed prices at the taxi ranks.
At the last count the fare between Rhodes and Lindos was 40 Euros (about £35).
The pre-booked price from Lindos to the Airport is €45.
How much is car hire?
A comfortable, small, four-seater (with air-con) currently costs about 30 Euros a day
(around £25). Petrol is cheaper than in the UK.
Is there a regular bus service between Lindos & Rhodes Town?
Yes. There is a regular daytime service between Rhodes Town & Lindos. On arrival at Lindos the buses stop at a car-park above
the village and a shuttle bus ferries passengers to and from the main square. There is a bus timetable next to the kiosk in the main square.
The single fare from Lindos to Rhodes ia around €4.60.
Are there standard amenities & facilities available in Lindos?
Yes. There are two banks (with ATM cash points), a Post Office
and telephones in the square
and the village which take phonecards.
There are plenty of supermarkets and an Italian Bakery (near Pallas Travel)
Shops are generally open from 9.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. (7.00 p.m. Sundays).
There is a laundry which doubles as the Lindos lending library.
Will I be able to watch the big game in Lindos?
Usually. Yes. A number of bars have "big screens" and will advertise special sporting events on boards outside.
